Summary

Welcome to The Cold Outreach Newsletter (est. 5 min read).

In this newsletter, I will be going over the following things:

  • Writing subject lines

  • Avoiding clickbait

  • …and much, much more!

Actionable Tip

Write a Clear and Compelling Subject Line.

Your subject line is the first thing your recipient sees, so make it count. Use subject lines that pique curiosity or offer a clear benefit. Avoid clickbait tactics; instead, offer something relevant to the recipient’s needs, such as a solution to a problem their business might be facing.

Headlines & Subject Lines

Headlines and subject lines are the first things your potential customers see, and they play a crucial role in whether someone decides to open your email or keep reading. A great subject line or headline grabs attention by offering something valuable or sparking curiosity. For example, mentioning a specific benefit, like “Boost Your Sales by 20% in 30 Days,” directly tells the reader why they should open your email. On the other hand, a curiosity-driven subject line like “The Secret to Faster Sales Growth” can create intrigue, encouraging the reader to open the message to learn more. Always keep your subject lines short, clear, and focused on the recipient’s needs.

It's also important to avoid clickbait headlines that overpromise and underdeliver. While a flashy subject line might increase open rates initially, it can hurt your credibility if the content doesn’t match the headline’s promise. Think about what the recipient truly cares about and how you can add value. For example, instead of generic phrases like “New Offer Just for You,” try something more specific like “Free Consultation to Optimize Your Marketing Strategy.” The key is to create headlines and subject lines that align with your message while offering a clear reason for the recipient to engage with your content.
